Gobble, Dee and Gook the Norfolk Black Turkeys
Our turkeys are very noisy. Dee and Gook each lay a speckledy egg each day. We were told they were Norfolk Blacks, but their recent chick is not the right colouring so there must be some Bronze in there somewhere!
Turkeys eggs taste the same as chicken eggs, but are slightly larger. Turkeys usually have a short egg laying period - from April until August, though in 2008 their egg laying period continued into October! We hatched a lot of the eggs out in the incubator so we have several turkey chicks of various ages - some will end up as Christmas Dinners.
