MCFE in the community
Mill Cottage Farm Experience actively supports the community through fundraising efforts and environmental improvement, as well as providing students with work experience placements and assistance in achieving qualifications.
- We are helping a Treloars College student complete a Level 1 ICT Skills qualification
- We work with Sparsholt Agricultural College and Merrist Wood Agricultural College by providing Work Experience placements
- We have donated money from fundraising efforts to schools at their school fetes
- We are active in Holybourne, clearing footpaths, the river, etc
- We are working towards making the public footpaths through our fields more accessible
- We provide assistance to the children's food education programme, Fit2Cook
- We support an Alton College student with work experience one day a week
- We donated 10% of all sales made at a recent Macmillan Coffee Morning (and wine tasting evening!)
- We are regularly called upon to help locally with wildlife and unwanted rabbits, guinea pigs & chickens!
- We are building links with Heathrow Special Needs Farm
- We work with the local Guide group to enable them to complete their environment badges
- We have donated a total of nearly £4000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer as a result of a ladies' sponsored walk, our Open Day fundraising and the sale of some handmade cards (made with Mill Cottage wool)
- We have raised £125 for Epilepsy Bereaved
- We have raised £810 for British Kidney Patient Association
- We have raised £450 for Hampshire Search and Rescue
